TR2/3/3A Can heat from exhaust downpipe .....

Heat is not good for anything electrical, but our starters live a long time. The worst I have seen are header installations, where the starter is wrapped in exhaust pipes...and they still seem to live.

Ditto, both my TR3s have original starters.
