General MG Can anyone recommend 'New England Classics?'

They seem to have a good inventory of MGs. Has anyone dealt with them? Also, can someone confirm that the shifter changed from 'a rubber boot mounted in the carpet' to a 'shifter in the tranny tunnel console' between the 70 and 71 model year? I always prefered the non-console version. Thanks, Charles

Through the years, I've heard nothing negative about them. I once sold them a picture I took at the 1953 Bridgehampton race wile sitting in a tree - the last race held on public roads in NY State because a spectator got killed stupidly trying to cross the road during the feature race. I think they paid me $50.00 for it. I believe it's still hanging inside the showroom but I haven't been up there for several years. Perhaps one of the other CT boys can add something.

Be sure to ask lots of questions ! Years ago I made arrangements to visit their showroom to look at a Lotus Elan. Surprise to me on arriving I found the Elan was RIGHTHAND DRIVE. That was never mentioned in any of their advertising or phone conversations.
