The limited information that I have shows the first BN2 August 1955 as C228047, with body number 10031. The last BN2 July 1956 as C233455 with body number 14634.
Your car number BN2L229674 would appear to have been built between December 1955 & January 1956. Additionally, your engine tag (on the block above the distributor) should be stamped 1B229674M.
However, the body tag showing body number 2588 corresponds to a BN1 built March or April 1954. As Clausager says, the first BN2 is thought to be body number 10031 in batch number 5441.
Additional clues - The body number should be stamped on the back side of the cockpit surround pieces, on the left rear side of the bonnet flange, on the trunk/boot stay rod flange, (attached tab), & on the front flange of the front gravel shield.
