As you move the pump into place the rocker arm should contact the cam & you will need to compress the rocker arm spring to get the pump flange completely up to (flush) the block. If you don't feel the rocker compressing the spring a bit, it is probably under the cam. Once you do it you will know the correct "feel". When correct the rocker spring will be trying to push the pump out a bit from the block.

Help.........Please?

Installed and removed fuel pump twice now, went to the manual, and I'm told that I must be sure that the rocker arm lies on top of the camshaft eccentric not underneath.

How will I know?
