Cameron Argetsinger has died. He was in his late '80s.

Argetsinger concieved the Watkins Glen race track and many of the susequent races there, including the F1 races.
He was also one of the earliest members of the SCCA and was the Director of the club in the '70s.

Up until pretty recently, he was the president of the Motor Racing Institute in Watkins Glen, a nice little museum of motorsports stuff.

Argetsinger was a lawyer by trade (Cornell). He had a large family with many grandchildern and great grandchildren.

Sad news! I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times many, many years ago!
