TR4/4A Cam Bearings - TR4

Is there a readily available tool or substitute procedure for extracting/refitting the cam bearings in my TR4 motor?
It's tool S.32-1 in the workshop manual.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

They did mine at the local machine shop. Be certain that the oiling holes are aligned with the block preperly when installing the new ones.

I had a machine shop turn a mandrel for me. Cost $10, but that was decades ago (and I have no idea where it is today). That, plus some 3/4" threaded rod, nuts and a flat bar with a 3/4" hole was enough to build a suitable substitute.

The rearmost bearing is particularly tricky, as it's the only one that has a front & back (even though the 3 bearings are identical). IOW, the middle two bearings can be installed with either side to the front, but the rear bearing must be turned correctly or it will block the oil feed to the rocker shaft.

Outside of the really basic stuff, it seems as though every "involved" task I give the local shops gets mucked up. Like the aforementioned oilway. Or the oil pressure relief valve on my MGB-GT a couple of months ago (you do NOT want to try to change that bad boy whilst the motor is in the car)...anyway, would like to eliminate that kind of stuff by doing more myself.
Was hoping there was a commercially available tool that could be somehow modified.
Your home-made version has me thinking.....
Thanks

Lisle #18000 is the tool.List$274.00 Sale $179.00 I have sold many over 34 years.Tool is universal and works on all cam bearings. With out it you will have to pay the machine shop and this is the tool they will use.
