CAM BEARING REPLACEMENT

Recently I wrote about needing some info on cam bearing replacement. Today a friend of mine came over. He is an engine machinest of some 20 years experience. He had a universal cam bearing tool. It is a tool that you put into the cam bearing and using a bolt you expand the tool to a snug fit and just pound the rascal out. Worked like a champ. to replace the bearings you put the tool in and bang them back in. Took about an hour and a half. My description is an over simplification. alligning the oil holes is a real challenge, using a red marker and a bore light allowed us to get them in correctly the first time. This is not a job for a beginner! I'm a pretty good wrench but I had no clue on either the application of the tool or how to put them in. This is one job best left to the professional!
y thanks to those of you that shared your experience's with me. It certainly helped! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif
