Calling the Infernal Revenue "Service"

So I had a question about a previous tax return, so I called the subject agency today. On hole for an hour, then, when it sounded like I was going to be connected to an agent, "click" I was disconnected. Start over - another hour and finally I got through to a live person! Whew!
 
Not gonna happen. Audits is why they are too busy to answer the phone.
 
Tried to renew licence and opted for the Federal Compliant Real I.D here at any of the convenient SoCAL DMV locations - all of them are booked solid way past my licence expiry date. Should have known to book 3 to 4 months in advance. Walk-ins are welcome at the DMV if you can spare the 3+ hrs wait time. And when yoy make it to the front of the line: "Sorry this window is closed..."
