I hear you Geo. When I was looking for my brake pulling problem, I say how bad the pistons looked. I am going to have to rebuild the calipers before I put new pads in because the rusty pistons would most likely rip the O rings up if I tried to push them back very far. I am just going to drive it for summer because there is no fluid leak and the pads are Âľ full. I did notice a problem that I created when I put on some of that blue anti-squeak stuff the last time I put pads in. I must have gotten too much on and it got on the rubber boot and when the pad wore the piston naturally came out, and it pulled the rubber boot loose because it could not unfold right, revealing the rusty piston.
I still have not found the pulling problem and did check the tire air like you suggested. I did find a little air in one of the front calipers and perhaps the brakes are pulling a little less. One thing that is kinda unique to this problem is that if I very gently pump the brakes twice before I do a test for the pulling, the brakes do not pull. This is what led me to believe that the problem was air in a caliper housing. Anyways when the time comes I will pony up the money and get the stainless.
