I'm not very happy with the way cables are routed in my '71's engine compartment. For example, the rev counter cable enters through the firewall and attaches to a point under the distributor. On its way it rubs against the steering column rod. Not good. I'm wondering if it should be anchored somewhere it isn't.
More critically, the choke cables pass right under the bonnet latch mechanism, and seem to rub. They are also bent down to attach to the carbs at rather a sharp angle, and today while I was attaching the heater thermostat cable, the sleeving on one of the choke cables broke, exposing the wire: looks like I need a new choke cable /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
Are these sort of problems common, or is it just my TR6?
