c head color

my c type head has remnants of red paint in the corners of the casting and on the head bolt nuts.
can anyone tell me the correct color red to paint it and what parts should be painted?
just the top around the plugs or all non gasketed surfaces?
thanks,
david

I think the red would just be in the spark plug area....the front of the head between the valve covers would still be polished aluminum. No paint on the valve covers or head bolts.

Looks sharp, but of course...if you want the original look for an xk120, there would be no paint even if its a C head...

I think.

matt thanks once again,
the red does look sharp!
since i'm not much of an engine detailing kind of guy i'll probably go with unpainted for now. once i get it all up and running like a scalded dog then i'll worry about the finish.
anyone else who has any engine pics to share i'd love to see them. almost everytime i see one i seem to say to myself "so that's where that thingy goes"
