TR6 Butchered TR6 on Portland Craigslist

Good thing I don't like lime greeen! heh

Other then the color and the way the tail lights were handled, what's wrong with it?? The quality of the work looks real good.

Don't get so hung up on keeping all these cars stock. Over 90,000 TR6's were made. There's plenty around for the concours guys to ogle over. A few radicals here and there make things interesting.

Buy this one for quick entry into Britsh V-8's. Not for me but quality of the build looks good.

As a lot of you know, I'm all for mods/upgrades and this may not be my "cup of tea" but it looks like a quality job and is probably a blast to drive. If it handles as well as goes fast, someone will buy it and have a fun summer.:driving: There's more to owning these cars than keeping them all original. To me it's more important that they be kept on the road and being driven. It's your car do what you want to it.

I've got to agree with Bobby, but I still hate the taillights. The lime color isn't that far off from the original TR6 color, so no biggie there.

Other than the rear end treatment and color looks to be well done and not that over the top for a V8 conv. Put real tail lights on it/change color and ok.

Agreed! Plus, just think of how much fun it would be to drive... well... I would fix those awful tail lights before taking it into public... but after that...

Man this guy must have way more invested in this car than he's asking for it.
If it's really done correctly, I mean chassis wise and such, it would be a great buy at about 10k. Correct the ridiculous tail lights, lose the color coordinated green lizard theme and it could be a cool car. It most likely handles like a turd, but it would be a hoot in a straight line.

I'm more traditional leaning in that I like my TR6 to keep its original stylish looks and I enjoy the sound of the original I-6....but I very much like resto-mod cars and would probably add more h.p. to mine when cash becomes more available. AND I like creative, well-done modded cars. I believe in preserving the marque, but I think most hot-rodded cars are of a rarer nature model, so I don't know why TR6s should be any more protected than, say, a 57 Chevy. If I owned that green monstrosity for sale on CL, I'm sure I would drive it, and OFTEN, and would probably have a huge smile on my face every minute.

Actually, the more I look at that car, the more I like it! I would vote for maybe some more black to offset the green, but otherwise, I like it.

Personally, I think our marque is in more danger of the people who take restorable TR6s and part them out for cash than people who do this kind of "restoration". That's my 2cents anyway.

Half a day in the paint shop shooting the tailight panel matte black and it's good to go! You won't even see the tailights then.
