But this is really, REALLY cool!

Saw that, too. The tail lights look like a '54 Ford.

That's not too far from me. If anyone on here buys it, I'll be happy to pick it up and put a few thousand miles on it for them!

Very cool. I cannot tell, is that really a tr3 engine? It must be. What else could it be?

Yep -

Vanguard

Click on the Vanguard model down the page...

Well...almost! Really, it's more a "tuned" version of the Vanguard 2088cc engine as opposed to the stronger and more powerful 1991cc TR engine (100hp in TR3 spec.). Many of the bits are very similar, of course.

I recall doing a quick comparison of part numbers, using SPC's for both the Sportsman and the TR2/3, and there definitely are a number of part number differences.

:iagree:

I believe I saw that car at a Triumpest afew years ago. One on the San Diego events, perhaps. I does look a Ford that some one left in the rain- sort of shrunken. T.T.

Remember, when you look at the literature, the TR3 engine is frequently refered to as a Vanguard motor.

So actually, its the other way around.

When I had my Phase 2 Vanguard, I was going to put a TR2 manifold on it so I could add SU carburators. The reason I didn't was that nasty 4 letter word: RUST

It had spent many years on salt ladden roads.
