Hi everybody!
im pretty new in this B busness, but i'll like to know if I could install chrome bumpers on my 1978 MG B instead of those rubber ones.
thanx

On page A08 of the new MOSS MGB CATALOG is a kit to do this conversion. You can look for the chrome bumper conversion kit at www.mossmotors.com.

I would go with the Moss Motors conversion kit. I am not sure what year the MG ride height was raised by a few inches, but if it pertains to your year, you might wanna consider lowering your car a little bit becuase it may look a little odd with the chrome bumper being that far from the ground compared to the actual chrome bumper 1974 and older MGBs. But yeah, thats just personal preference. Just trying to give out a suggestion!

uhmmm... if you don't you'll just have a gaping hole where the grill should go.

Have you considered painting them? Not to upset a lot of people but I never liked the black rubber bumpers. Now that I have seen them painted the same color as the car they really look quite nice.

I think a "B" with painted rubber bumpers is what they call a "Miata". Isn't it? HaHa

I've never seen that done but I bet it would look neat.

Much better than a Miata! that is pretty neat. Gives it a kind of "modern retro" look.

thats exactly what i want!!!!
im getting my bumpers painted!!!!
however, my car is british green..., would it still have the same effect as the red one that klutz showed?

On my B I'm going with the Morspeed bumper to replace the rubber bumpers. I wish this was mine. I wonder if he would notice if I put a faded silver B in its place /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif But after seeing this one it puts green back on the top 3 lists for colors I'm going to paint mine.

That is really a unique mixture of new and old...
but, hey, I kinda like it! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It will look great in green. And show us some pictures before and after if you can.
