Bumblebee Plug Wires

Re: Update

Speaking of wire lengths.....do all four of the plug wires have to be of equal length, or can you cut them to different lengths that are suitable for the distance to each plug, for asthetic reasons?

Also, what brand (and source) of distributor caps do ya'll recommend? I bought one of the "aftermarket" caps and rotors from Moss and am not sure if I am pleased with the quality.

Re: Update

Cut em anyway you like.....Doesn't make any difference.

As for the cap.....Haven't heard of any defective ones being sold recently.

Re: Update

I wouldn't say it was defective. But when I was screwing in the bolts that hold in the wires, the contact points would spin as I tightened down the screws. This would obviously cause a problem since they have a "face" that is flat to allow the rotor to clear them. I turned them back to the right position, but I just wory about them spinning around later on down the road. Also the plastic itself is kind of dull, matte finish, and sort of cheap looking. Like the el-cheapo no-brand power tools that are made in China. Definately not nice and shiny like the old cap I took off.

Re: Update

Try the one from Advanceauto, seems ok from here, was cheep enough and arrived next day.

Re: Update

Hi if the contacts inside the cap spin as I interpret your statements ,That cap is Toast. send it back with a nasty note about lack of quality.---Keoke

Re: Update

Yep /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif they musta been near rotten.---Keoke?

Re: Update

Aye, thought that was what we were looking for with screw in terminals.

Re: Update

I use an older Sun timing light that has a plug wire adapter which you insert between the plug and wire on number 1. It has a metal pick up for the timing light. I also have an induction timing light I bought on ebay ($15). Love it to death and it came with a tack/dwell with induction pickup
