Hello all,
The spring sale is here! 20% off for the entire month of April!
Please read until the end for additional information!
$16 USD each with $4 flat rate domestic shipping for ANY size order, international shipping is actual cost and varies. Domestic Priority Mail is available at a $12 extra cost if requested. Orders of 4 or more will receive free regular domestic shipping! Talk to your friends and place a group order!
Spring is coming, now’s the time for inexpensive (but very worthwhile) upgrades!
These are designed by Jeff at Advanced Distributors, built and sold by Chris Harding (hukfin mgb).
This new design is easier to install without as much fiddling and adjustment.
These are an automotive grade circuit board capacitor built to function in place of Lucas condensers for all Lucas distributors from 1955-74, plus TR6 to '76 and can be retrofitted into earlier distributors with a little modification.
These are built to fit and work in the DM2, 22D, 23D, and 25D. They can be adapted to function in a 45D, D2A, or DKY4A with a modification of the lead wire or mounting plate.
I can send you a kit that works if you have something other than a 25D, contact me at the email address below.
Original condensers were .18 -.20 mFd rated, and all new versions have gone higher and higher. I believe the Distributor Doctor and British Vacuum Unit versions are .22mFd, which put more stress on the points contacts and can allow premature burning. Ours are right at .2 mFd, so 10% more cushion to protect the points than the best ones available elsewhere.
These have fully soldered connections, use automotive grade wire, and marine grade shrink tubing with an internal adhesive. These should last many, many years and the prototypes out on the road have been 100% successful.
*READ-IMPORTANT*
You need to add a bit of hot glue or RTV silicone to the areas indicated on the photo below, including a blob under the green wire at the spot indicated. this will help eliminate any possible mechanical failure due to vibration.
No written warranty, but like all of my distributors, I stand behind my parts and design to resolve issues as needed, just get in touch.
We have many ready to ship and any quantity is available with a small lead time.
Payment is via Paypal (preferred, but other methods are available…) to charding4000@gmail.com and please include your name and address.
Thanks, Jeff and Chris
