Bullet Connectors

last summer, I bought a bag of bullet connectors in Scotland and have used them all up.

was recently at an electronics supply shop and they had bullet connectors. which brings me to the questions

1. are they the same size?

2. are they worth using as they don't seem to be solid (I'm only using them for one or two - stereo - connections

3. they didn't seem to have the female connector - are these available?

I scavenged a lot of bullet ends off my old wiring. Two seconds of propane heat and the end pulls off the wire. I found some male ends at my hardware store that seem to fit the Lucas female parts fine, they don't seem to have the female connections though, at least not just sitting there. Lucas has male ends on everything and two/three/four way connectors, the rest of world puts a male on one end a female on the other.
The ones I found also designed to be crimped on so they have insulation on them, I have to tear that off to solder then heatshrink tubing. It's a pain.
While on the topic, anyone know the trick for releasing a Molex plug? I need to put in my XR700.

Thanks, reminds me I need to scavenge everything I can from the old wiring loom I got with my parts car. The propane torch trick will come in handy!
