Building Wooden Steering Wheel

Sometime in the last few years there was a link to a site on building a wood steering wheel using an original Healey wheel as a base. Anyone remember what that link was?

Yep that's the one. I've got the wood and the tools but I should probably finish my frame off restoration before I tackle this.

Sometimes doing a small project to completion gives you the sense of accomplishment to continue on with a big project. I looked at my restoration that way. A series of small projects. Well, until other things happened in my life and I stopped working on the car.

I know what you mean about life happening. I last drove this car in 1976 when I stored it away while building a house. Then two kids in college, building another house which burned, and building another house. As a result of this and other family stuff, I'm now trying to do some work on it every day in hopes of getting it on the road again before my kids take my keys away.

That is some great woodworking skill. I had a spare and somewhat worn Moto Lita left over from a previous car. My project was to refresh the finish and replace the center section to work on the Healey.
