In the may issue of retro cars there is an atricle about how to build the big Healey engines. What cams, roller rockers etc will do for power. The magazine has talked to JME Healey from Leamington Spa, UK.

Thanks... I'm rushing out nw to get one.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Engine paint

I am at the stage where i need to paint my BJ7 am i right in thinking that the block, manifold, starter, dynamo are all painted in green, am i best to spray it on.
I have a tin of paint from AH spares and a Moss aerosol can from SC parts, having applied the tin by brush and sprayed the other on the two colours seem different. I am at a loss as to which is the right colour. Help

Re: Engine paint

My humble guess is that you will never get the same color (or colours over there) from different manufacturers. Pick one colour you think looks best, or the one most recommend, and get enough of that to do the whole job. I'm at the same stage you are, and I'm using the Moss spray bombs. The paint appears to be a type of metallic, that needs to be mixed very well, and sprayed in light coats to achieve an even finish.
