Home from Toronto. Bugsy II is at his new home.
5:45 AM Saturday - Rolled out of Dayton after adding 33 gallons of gas to Dwayne, my 94 Suburban. $133 for gas, Yikes. Able to roll 70-72 with trailer with huge gate on it without constantly downshifting, That's good. A little bumpy with unloaded trailer but not too bad. 8:30 AM Stopped in Toledo outskirts to gas up and grab a bite, looks like 11-12 Mpg.
8:45 AM - into Michigan on I-75, roads have turned to absolute crap. Bump. bump. bump.
9:45 AM - On the Ambassador Bridge, toll $9.5Home from Toronto. Bugsy II is at his new home.

9:45 AM - On the Ambassador Bridge, toll $9.50,over the bridge to CN Customs, blonde, 20's, overweight, "Where you going, eh?" I kid you not.
10:00 On the 401 Main E/W CN Highway. Nice smooth road, 3 lanes, and find myself surrounded on both sides with what must be one of the world's largest wind farms. Not a few but thousands of wind farms that run 30-40 miles as I drive East.
12:45 PM 218 Miles later I get off at the 312 km marker. Map Quest immediately gets me lost, Google Maps, oops, Google Maps not working, pull out the GPS, and at that moment Cell Phone Rings, Nick calling to see where I am. I give update, stay right there, I'll come and guide you in. 0,over the bridge to CN Customs, blonde, 20's, overweight, "Where you going, eh?" I kid you not.

5 minutes later Nick shows up driving a Red Cayenne and we head for his house. Surprise, surprise, Nick and his 20 y.o. son have already dropped the 948 into place and all that remains is putting on windshield, securing bonnet and getting everything loaded up. Bugsy, looks great sitting there. Going to be lots of work to bring him back to life but it's all there. What appeared to be red in pictures turns out to be very light surface rust on many surfaces. This car has been inside for 28 years apart. Will need some filler around nose and by RR tail light area but other than that body is totally solid. Pics from after getting Bugsy on the trailer.

Headed back out for home at 3:30 with Suburban loaded with plastic tubs full of Bugsy Parts. Back West on the 401, Trailer seems to be able to home 70-72 without any issues as Bugsy's windshield helping to divert airflow around the trailer gate.
8:45 PM Roll into Detroit and Customs. Here was my big worry. Will I be classified as a '59 Sprite or will Customs Officer take exception and classify Busy as a "Unassembled Car - Kit of Parts" Now problems in Customs. After 45 minutes as paperwork is filled out I'm on my way. Surprisingly, I'm not asked to pay any import duties. I'll act dumb but I have official papers in hand showing I was able to successfully import Bugsy with no outstanding notation. Retighten all hold down straps, going to need gas soon.
9:00 Wow are these MI I-75 Roads really, really, rough. Stopped for gas 30 miles later only to find many straps loose and 2 going to wheels and Eyebolts on the floor had parted. Bugsy still safely strapped down but a little worrisome towing on the MI roads. Added some extra straps and retightened again. One more comfort stop 90 minutes later and I finally rolled in at 11:30 PM and parked everything in front of the house where it still sits. 850 Miles, close to 90 gallons of gas, and close to 18 hours on the road. Was the trip worth it? I've been in search of the right Bugeye for 10+ years. **** Yes:glee:
Lot's of pics to follow. I plan to create a Blog Site where I can post the restoration journey. I told Nick, I'll need to live to age 90 to have Bugsy's title in my name longer than it was in his. Hey that's a good thing to aspire to. 22K original miles. A creampuff. Thanks everyone for your help along the way. A new journey begins.
