Bugeye wiper motor removal

It has been a while since I removed my wiper motor, and I need to get it out. Can someone tell me how to do this? I was trying to figure out how to release it from the cable, but I am not sure how to do this. Thought it would be a good idea to ask for help now instead of later when I have ruined something. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I usually remove the cable with the motor so that I can clean it. If the wiper arms are off, then the cable just pulls right out.

(we are just talking about the inner cable, right? not the outer tube)

Other option is to remove the top plate from the motor. The cable end will then slide out but it may take a little effort.

I am just trying to separate the wiper from the inner cable. I would normally take it and the cable out together, but I already have everything together and greased. I removed the four small bolts that hold the top plate that covers the gear. It sort of looks like I can remove a clip and the rod that holds the cable will lift out so the cable can be separated. It looks simple, but I have had what I thought was simple backfire in my face before. Just want to make sure before I make things worse.

On the early models, I think you need to mark the cap so that you do not disturb the park position when you reinstall. Not sure about the later ones.

It was as easy as I thought to remove it. For once I get a break. Thanks for the feedback. Now to figure out why it is not working...
