Bugeye speedo cable

I want to order a new speedo cable for my bugeye with a 1275 and a ribbed case gearbox. There is one listed for 948 and 1100, and one for 1275. Which one should I order? Does it matter?

I would order the one for a 1275 since that is what you have!

Yep.....get the cable that goes with the transmission. Since 948's and 1098's had the smoothcase, their cable is different from the 1275 with the ribcase. You have a ribcase, so get the 1275 cable (this would hold true even if you had a 948 with a ribcase).

I honestly have no idea what the difference is between the two, but again.....get the part that matches your transmission.

All the cables fit all the trannys and gauges but the length changed thus the difference. A 1275 cable is too short for a 67 Sprite with a stock 1275.
The rerouted it with the change to the padded dash.
So if you have a 58-67, get the early cable.
68 to 74 takes the later cable. It's shorter due to the way it runs.

I have the same set up - 1275 in my Bugeye. Let me know which one you go with. I think the speedo cable I have now is a little longer than it needs to be. Anyone know the difference in length? I am thinking the early cable would not have so much slack.
