looking for an honest bugeye expert/lover to give advice on restoration of very nice 60...garage kept, twice restored bugeye...probably second owner..bought in 80..here in california..black plate, always garaged,1275,ribbed,discs,etc. the tough part is that so. california has more than one very dishonest car restoration shop and individuals.I live in riverside and can tell you some very discouraging things about how these shops operate..but won't unless you really want to know..i've owned six bugeyes and never had this type of experience until we moved here. the car has 7500 miles on it since it was restored the 1st time..less than 1000 since the 2nd time and has sat since 88 in the garage i built for it. for the next ten or so years i drove it around the block once each six weeks to keep everything up..then i got old, the kids were gone and ...health entered the picture...any suggestions.

Shammrock, I'm a little uncertain of what you are looking for. I'm now relegated to the frozen wastelands of Michigan, but still have my heart in California, along with a handful of Bugeyes that reside in the Sacramento valley.
If you're looking for advice on your Bugeye restoration, you've come to the right place.
If you're looking for directions to a reputable shop in your area, give me an email at jeffreydahn@yahoo.com, and we'll discuss this privately. I still have a lot of friends in SoCal, most of whom are wrapped up in British cars.

thanks for the reply...i've been out here for 24years but plan to get back to your area as soon as possible..lived in a small town across the bridge from michigan ..called marinette,; wisc my hope is to go through the car again..get it right..and ship it to my son ...in ohio...i had it built for him originally..as his first car...first thing is to locate someone that has the ability to diagnose what i need done to make it a decent weekend car.

I'm in O.C. but occassionaly get to Riverside. I've been completely through my 60 Bugeye and may be of help. Email me for details.
