Sounds like an exciting gourmet dish but is just a few pics of my BE on its side. I fabbed a rotessiere using my engine stand and hoist that worked much better than I expected. It made me so nervous I stopped and rechecked everything as I didn't want the little car to fall on its head (or my toes) but all was well.
I've already replaced both floors, inner&outer sills, cross brace (jacking points), inner interior bracing and both foot wells. I left the car on its side to replace the trunk pan and shut panel (area in front of the rear axle) and right side shock mount (may replace the left side while in there). I can take care of some minor body work while the trunk pan is out (I don't think I need eight holes to mount a license plate!) and strip the rest of the interior area of paint and minor rust as well. I'll fab up repair pieces for the rear inner wheel arches and the shut panels at the bottom of the quarter panels on both sides. Can also patch in new metal on the exterior body as need too.
I'll also weld in new metal on the front frame rails and the area between the floorboards and fab up a new tunnel exit.
Once I have all that done I'll strip the bottom side of rattle can primer and panel paint then spray with epoxy. Have to decide on a body color soon as I want to paint the bottom the same color and will be spraying bed liner or something similar in the wheel wells all around.
Hope to have the little car assembled and running by the end of summer (I'll say August but who knows how long "summer" will last in Socal this year) to include paint and all. We'll see how that goes....
The last photo shows the cart the car has been setting on for over two years and my ride to work Honda VTX 1800....small garage! Anyway, just wanted to share my progress with afew pics.
