Bugeye lack of power

My bugeye sat for a year which has caused a number of issues. Today after driving it a few hours i found the engine leaked two quarts of oil. I will have to clean and search for the oil leak tomorrow. In the meantime, when I accelerate quickly, the engine will rev, but the car does not pick up speed readily. I am wondering if this is a result of the clutch disc getting coated with oil and perhaps slipping as a result? What else could cause this? Any thoughts are appreciated.

If the rpm's get faster, but the car doesn't - sure sounds like slipping (oily?) clutch to me.

Unless you have clutchless "fluid drive"!
