bugeye king pins

Picked up a 61 Bugeye in boxes. The left hand suspension was assembled, the right had the king pin on the "A" arm. When trying to assemble swivel axle to the pin discovered the pin would not fit lower bush. I took apart the assembled left side and found the the right pin lower is much larger,.0935, than the the other.
Any and all thoughts.
Thanks

When the Sprites went to disk brakes in late '63 the kingpin changed size.
You probably have a "late model" kingpin and drum brake knuckle (early model).

Forgive my ignorance, but don't the bushes; on the swivel axles on the B/E, have to be reamed?

Paul

Yes- all of the bushings need to be reamed. It could be that these need to be but it didn't sound like the bushing had been replaced yet (???).
Paul is correct- they could be the correct ones but just needing to be reamed.
Is it a matter of just a couple of thousands or about 1/8" difference?

Peter C. will ream them for you and turn around the same day. Price is right and done correctly. NFI>

The bushing look like they new in both swivel axles but I don't know if they have been reamed. One assembly was complete but there is play, very little. the smaller pin fits both axles.I'm just going to have to get new pins and bushes get them reamed. There are just to many unknowns here to mess with.
Thanks all for the help.

If you want to have them done locally, I spoke with David at British Car Specialists about a year ago about doning mine. They are an AH specialty shop in Stockton, CA British Car Specialists
