Bugeye jack handle

Does someone have a picture of an original jack handle for the Bugeye they could post? Also, I tried using the jack on my Bugeye. Is there some trick to using it? It seems like it has a tendency to get a little close for comfort to the body for me. I had almost thought about placing a small piece of wood between the jack and car.
Kevin

Kevin, you just had the car painted.
DO NOT USE THE JACK ON THE CAR!!!
As you noticed the top of the jack gets toooo close to the door. Use a regular screw jack under the car and treat the BE original jack as a museum piece.
This is what the handle looks like.
Cheers,
Scott in CA

The jack and jack handle may also be red.

Jack, what are the two things above the grease gun, and the thing that looks like a big nail above the screw driver? Also, what color was the jack originally, Jack?
Kevin

Jack was black or red either or, along with jack handle.

Big nail is handle for plug wrench not shown.

Above the grease gun right side, points plug adjuster, right side plug gap adjuster.

Don't believe that the jack ratchet was painted on a Bugeye as it was on later Spites and Midgets. The lug wrench was painted black or red to match the jacket.

You know Ray, I think you are correct. Also the center screw of the jack was unpainted.

Wonder how these unpainted parts were finished. Zink, or what?

I had heard, and I can't remember from whom, that the very late serial BEs used the stamped type jack wrench rather than the cast one shown above. This stamped one was the same one used on the Mk2 Sprites and Mk1 Midgets. Is there any truth to this?

Mk2 Sprites used one that looks like that but has a square 3/8" (or so) drive, not hex (in my experience so far).

Now things are getting a little clearer. I have a 1960 Bugeye, and frequently have pieces that are slightly different from earlier model. A guy on Ebay was advertising a NOS jack handle for late model 948 and later model sprites. The handle looks just like the last one Scott posted, but it has a square hole. I had not see one like Scott posted before with the hex hole.
Kevin

Do all the jack's for the Sprite Mk2 and Midget Mk1 have a square nut on the jack? The BE jacks that I've seen have a hex nut on the jack.
