BUGEYE HEATER FRESH AIR VALVE???

I am trying to gather together all of my parts needed for the heater. I have looked for pictures, but can not see where the Heater Fresh Air Valve goes on my 1960 BE. And in my boxes of parts I have found 2 different valves. One is the dia. of the tube that runs between the heater box and the blower and the other is a larger dia. that will fit to the tube running from the front of the bonnet and the blower. This one has an angle bracket (about 45 degrees) The usual catalogs do not help and all of the pictures I could find on Sprite Spot do not help much. WHICH ONE IS CORRECT?

Thank you

The heater valve flapper for the "fresh air" is the same size as the tube that goes between the blower and the heater box. See if these photos are any help.

Not trying to hi-jack..but has anyone found a source that sells the rubber seal that goes on the flapper inside? I can't find one anywhere.

Thanks

That I think you are going to have to make. Guess I would try a race car parts house or such for thin rubber sheeting.

Yeah, thought about that, the original rubber actually fits over and around the edge. I guess I could just attach it to one side of the flapper somehow. So long as it functions..no one can see it that is for sure!

Think some washers and pop rivets would work well.

Another question. I have pre-fitted the heater box & fresh air valve to ( mean toward) the blower assy and now wonder how the valve connects to the blower. It is 3"dia. but there is a gap between the two, less than an inch. I can think of many ways to connect these, but wonder if there is a fitting or something to connect the valve to the blower. I see nothing in the usual catalogs.

Thank you

Is a piece of hose like your other heater air delivery hose, the long one, but is smaller in diameter.

Look at Moss 363-390 as an example.

Also look at pic in this thread.

the heater housing I believe is bakealite (sp) which is the same as the dash knobs... I would be interested in a restoration procedure if any....
