I am not happy with the inside if my bugeye hard top. The outside is in great shape, but he gel coat or paint on the inside is bubbling up and lifting away from the surface. I have most of it removed at this point, and plan on feathering out the small remainder that is left. Before I paint the top, can someone tell me something I could apply that would make it more presentable? I had thought about getting truck bed liner. Any help or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

I put a strengthing layer of glass and resin on the underside of my hardtop. It was required and it gave the bottom a uniform look. If you do not like the bare glass look (stock), I think a bed liner word look good, and this is commonly done by hot rodders on fiberglass. You can also paint many of them.
Just a tip, I used interlux brightside boat paint to paint my hard top. I rolled it on and with wet sanding and polishing it looks great. At a min you can roll the underside of the top to make your project a little easier.

I put a foam backed headliner in mine.
It comes material/foam attached and sold by the yard. Best $17 I ever spent

I've committed the sacrilege of installing a headliner in my frogeye hardtop

My idea was to salute the Union Jack and my scottish heritage while coordinating with the red paint and pearl white hardtop. Oh yeah ,I went with blue carpet.

Love it. I've considered doing a headliner in my hardtop when I get to that part of the project.
