Bugeye front bonnet tilt: anyone built their own?

Has anyone built one of these rather than buy the kit?
At the Dixon show over the weekend all of the Bugeyes
had these kits. Looked like they'd be easy to fabricate.

For a front tilt that you can use your front bumper with go to https://www.gerardsgarage.com/FS_Garage.htm and look in the 'tech' area. I made my own copying the MiniMania version. Cost me about $10. for the materials and bolts.

If you are not going to use a front bumper, then use the holes the latching pins go into. I did this in '61 and the car is still set up that way. Fellow I sold it to after 30 years changed the latches at the rear to the Spitfire types, which he recessed into the fender; a very neat solution to latching.
