Bugeye door panels

Can someone explain the construction of the door pocket "panels"? I can't tell if they are full covered hardboard panels or just U shaped frames so the Vinyl is sort of loose like a pocket. It seems that they are fastened at the bottom with clips or a bar, and at the top with two screws/rivets.
thanks
Bill

Vinyl is applied to the hardboard by a vinyl adhesive. The hardboard is attached to three pieces of metal frame by tab brads (not the proper name I'm sure). The hardboard slides into a curved metal u-channel top piece that gives the pocket its proper shape. The tab brads are covered by a thin paper board about like poster board that is glued to the hardboard. There are two standard brads through the vinyl just above each bottom corner and a screw and nut on each side at the top that goes through the metal u-channel. The three metal frames have an offset that allows the pocket to slide into the door.

They are full panels with a metal top edge to hold the bow and metal on sides and bottom to slip in behind the door and hold in place with the addition of two screwes on the top.
