Bugeye bonnet insulation

Good morning all...hope it's a good Saturday for you. While I would like to keep my Bugeye 'stock' in appearance I really want some heat protection for the bonnet and would like to install some type of mat to the underside of the bonnet. The shiny stick on stuff is not the look I want, but is the fiber style durable if glued on? This is the type on MGBs and TRs that's pretty commonplace.
Thanks, Rut

After a little research I ended up ordering the Dynamat 11905 Hoodliner which is a cut to fit and self adhesive 3/4" thick insulation. It's not exactly the look I wanted, but it has good reviews.

Y'know, Rut, I'm not quite sure why you want to insulate your hood. Can't imagine you want to keep heat in the engine compartment and I doubt the exterior paint is going to get hot enough to damage it. Is it just for appearance? Not being critical, but I don't think I've ever seen that one to a bugeye before.

Rick,
I guess it's more of a habit than anything else since I've had or installed them on every LBC I've owned. I don't if it's necessary to help prevent paint damage, but my moderate engine build includes headers which might raise under hood temps. I can't see it raising temps or preventing heat from escaping enough to make a difference, but welcome any input since I don't want to cause a problem.

Rut,

Other than protecting the paint from oil, I can't see it making much difference. Are you going to install it all the way down to the top of the grille? I guess they must be pretty popular as the Little British Car Co sure seems to have a bunch of them: https://www.lbcarco.com/cgi-bin/gen5?nextform=/bonnetliner.html&t=_top&o= I just never saw the nee for them, except as an appearance item.
