Bugeye Body Blast

talked to rocky mountain .. said they take care of all the rust, pitted or not .. good prices are well. looks like a trip in the near future for me. for those interested , and i know you're out there, ... just under $1K (approximately).

Good deal Fred! Rocky Mtn. has been doing this stuff on cars and huge industrial equipment for years. I think they sand blasted the bottom and passenger compartment and used soda where panels might warp and only paint removal was needed. Mine was done 4 years ago and has been on a rotisserie or now a stand and no rust has shown anywhere although the dust will keep coming from below the dash and frpm the trumpets over at least a couple of prime or paint coats. I had been thru this with media blasting and found revving up the leaf blower and trying to get as much residue out that way seemed to help.Just using a blow gun and compressor was not as effective. Rocky Mtn. does plastic media now also.

Thanks for the tip Tom. I agree, for the money seems like a no brainer versus DIY. I would like to have the bottom of the tub returned to bare metal. Hopefully they can get the undercoating off the inner fender area. Time to give them a call and get up there. I'm an hour or two south, close enough not to be a problem.

Undercoating is tough, it is called scrapeing, mostly with a putty knife and carb cleaner.
