My car AN5L 9382 was produced on 2 January 1959. AN5L 5871 was produced on 13 October 1958. Hope that helps.

The Horler book is generally pretty good so short of getting a Heritage certificate, sounds like you've got a 1958 Bugeye there. No real notion of a "model year" for a Bugeye, just the year it ws built and the year it was titled (not always the same thing).
