Buffer on bellhousing

My bellhousing is missing the little buffer that keeps the selector shafts from going too far forward. What should I make these out of and how thick should they be? Also how to keep it in the hole, glue? I saw something on this before but cannot search and find it now.

I am still looking to find out what is the proper material to use for both buffers to limit end travel of shift shafts. One is located on the bell housing the other on the OD adapter plate. I want something that will stand up to oil (Redline MT90) is somewhat plyable (it is a buffer after all) but won't disentergrate or compress over time.

Before you go to the trouble, did you check with other suppliers such as Justbrits or British Car Specialists?

Does the part have molded shape or could it be cut from thick rubber type sheet? McMaster Carr is a good place for small quantity orders, shipped to your door. https://www.mcmaster.com/ and go to the section "Rubber and Foam Rubber". There is a short description of each material so you can find something that will hold up in an oil and heat environment.
