Bucket list

Saw that movie recently, and realized while I love my TR6 there are a couple other cars I want to own, and I only can have 1 at a time.
1. Original Mini Cooper ( got the jones for one bad).
2. 1969 or 70 'old style" GT6.
3. 240 Z
Thinkin about selling for a new project. Ever get the inkling to do the same?

Saw the movie, too. Also have a bucket list of cars I would like to own -- MGA Twincam, Big Healey, Shelby fastback Mustang, fat fendered Ford hot rod. I had to sell my 37 Ford flathead pickup restorod because I lacked the time, space and funds to complete it the way I wanted to and I really wish I could have kept it. I do almost all the restoration, repair and maintenance work myself and over the years I guess I feel that I have too much of me into the TR3 and TR8 to part with them.

I don't think so much of "trading" as I do "adding" which makes it a much slower process. But a Europa has always been a dream since I was a kid. I also find myself constantly ogling GT6s and TR8s. I had a '77 VW Scirocco in school that I thought was a simple blast too and I scan eBay and Craigslist for one of those. Sometimes I think the open design and high performance of a Lotus 7 might be fun too. And the list goes on and on and on......

Roofy,

Look in that receipt drawer, remember the $1.00 in $0.50 back out formula and step away from the computer before you surf your way over to eBay and do something that you'll regret.

Better yet, get outside and drive the car.

A twin cam Europa would be great fun. I would have to drive barefoot since I have trouble "toe toeing" every time I touched the loud pedal.
A TVR, Sunbeam Tiger, or a Morgan would have to be on the short list for next purchase. And then of course, I would have to consider a Bugeye, Caterham, TR8....

I'm denying the fact that I would love an XKE roadster, vintage 1960's.

Or an Aston Martin......

Why only one? That's why they make those four post lifts.
I've 'traded' too many cars that I later missed (and a few I didn't).
On the miss list specifically; 1962 Maserati 3500 GTI and 1970 E Type Jag Covertable. I want them back.

As long as you don't drive your "Bucket List" cars like Morgan Freeman did with the Mustang in the movie...

I know I will never own all the cars that I wish I could, and will always regret disposing of my 70 Datsun 240Z, my 75 VW Scirocco, and my 98 Contour SVT, but I still would like to own a Miura, a Packard Hawk, a Gullwing Mercedes, but that is why I have my HO slot cars and other model cars as well. There is not enough time to do all the things we would like, but it is fun to dream and do one or another of these things from time to time, like a trip on the length of Route 66 or the Lincoln Highway on the original (as much as possible) alignments. But a ride on PA's back roads in my TR, a vacation to a cool town like Alexandria Bay in NY, having friends over for beer and a few games of pool, or even getting to sing a solo on the stage of my old college in a concert are also great experiences that make life wonderful.

The top 21 in order:

1. 1970 AMC AMX/3 (The best car ever designed in the USA IMHO)
2. 1972 Lancia Stratos
3. 1962 Ford GT40 (actually prefer the ERA replica)
4. 1969 Lamborghini Miura
5. 1964 Aston Martin DB5 Vantage
6. 1970 DeTomaso Manguata
7. 1970 AMC AMX
8. 1974 Lamborghini LP400 "Periscope" Countach (Before the ugly fender flares and goofy wings)
9. 1985 Ford RS200 (To scare the poo out of rice racers)
10. 1965 Sunbeam Tiger
11. 1970 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona
12. 1970 Plymouth Superbird (Hemi, duh.)
13. 1965 Shelby GT350R
14. 1980 Triumph TR-8
15. 1963 Jaguar E-type Series 1 (Enzo Ferrari called it "The most beautiful car ever made")
16. 1990 Buick Reatta Convertible
17. 1979 Aston Martin Lagonda Series II (CRT gauges!)
18. 1988 Lamborghini LM002
19. 1970 Chevrolet Corvette (427, side pipes, etc....)
20. 1992 Dodge Viper (Before it got all cushy...)
21. 1957 Continental Mk.II with A/C (Before Lincoln got involved...)

Blackjack!

The 1969-71 TR-6 was at #8 and seeing as how I now have one, the others moved up...

Cheers!
