BT7Center shift trans question

For a month or so now i have been having an intermittent problem. As i shift from second to third i find it will not go into third. I try fourth and it will not go there either. Sometimes i coast some and get it into gear, sometimesi slow down, go to second and try again. When it then does shift into third
Or 4 its very stiff for awhile.

Usually i head home then. But it does not happen every time or every shift.

Any ideas?

Here's a couple ideas;

Take the cover off the tranny and go for a drive and see if it improves.

Check the oil level.

If no improvement having done the above, take the top off and inspect the shifting levers to see if there in alignment, follow the manual.

You didn't mention grinding in the gears, that's good.

Let us know what you've found.

Thanks.
No grinding gears
Last winter i covered the floor, trans tunnel inside and out with an insulation material.

Could I have cut the air flow and gotten the trans too hot?

Years ago I think I read something about that.
