On a BT7 there is a toggle pin which is for the soft top hook on the top inside corner .
Does anyone know what thread the pin is ?

I believe that it's 1/4"-20 BSW. The distance across the flats is larger than the nominal 7/16" of a 1/4"-20 UNC bolt.

Yes, it's 1/4-20. But it could be BSW or UNC. The distance across the flats is slightly larger than what you'd find on a 1/4-20 UNC bolt. So I believe that it's BSW. Yes, a 7/16" AF wrench will typically fit a 1/4" BSW bolt.

I thought It looked like BSW to me looking at the side that I managed not to shear the old pin off in , now I need to go digging around in my really old toolmakers tap box to see if I have a 1/4BSW tap set .
But first it’s a trip to see my metal guy and have him fill weld all the old windshield frame screws holes and the soft top pin hole that I had to drill out oversize due to sheared screws that just refused to come out .
