BT7 Top

I just received a replacement top from Moss for my BT7. In comparing it to my current top I find the 2" wide flaps that seal arround the side screens are sown tightly against the top with two rows of stiching (one row arround the edge of the top and another located about 2" inboard of the edge). This differs from my current top, an aftermarket replacement I installed about 35 years ago. The aftermarket has the flap attached only by one row of stiching located about 2" in from the bound edge of the top. The result is a more flexible seal when the side screens are closed. The old top has worked well.
The new design doesn't look like it has enough 'give' to seal arround the side screens.
I am wondering if the new top, with the two rows of stiching,is the original design. I can't remember the details from 35 years ago.
Anyone have any comments?

Thanks

robglasgo,hi,dont feel as if your question hasnt been read, probably like myself people are checking around for the info you requested, from what ive been able to disearn from photos,it appears as if the originals had a single row of stitches, though in many of the these picts its very difficult to tell,i recently bought a new top for my bj7,i was told its an original, but ive noticed it differs from whats on the car now,its said to be an original as well, im having the same problem with a tonneau cover i just bought ,the one that came with the car does not have a pocket/pouch for the steering wheel, were as the new[also proported to be original] does.if i can nail down add.info, ill report it here, good luck.anthony7777 1963 bj7,300 M.K.II /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Well now ain't that funny Anthony, cuz I just happen to have an NOS BJ7/8 tonneau cover laying on the floor at the moment. While there is adequate material {Its kinda pushed up} to cover the steering wheel there is not a definitive pocket added to it.---Fwiw--- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonod.gif PS> I have not received any PKGS--Keoke
