So... I guess I have to face the facts. I've assumed that I've had excessive crankcase pressure for some time. And it has felt like the power has been a bit low. So today I adjusted the valves and did a leak leak down test. #4 looked good, #3 looked fair, #2 looked good, and #1 had almost 80% loss. I pulled the timing chain vent hose and sure enough a nice little draft with a low hiss. I wish a hadn't checked...
 
keep us in the loop - I guess you'll be off to Mordor to get the ring...
