TR6 Broken front suspension bracket

A front suspension bracket broke off today. I guess I was lucky it happened in the parking lot. I rebuilt the front end a number of years ago, but never noticed any cracks in the bracket. I have a number of questions.1) Can someone tell me what this bracket is called? 2) is it better to weld in a whole new bracket or just repair/weld the old one? 3) is this a common problem in a TR6? 4) What could have caused this bracket to break? Any help would be greatly appreciated. (Sorry, but the pic is upside down)

It's hard to tell from the pic it has to be some kind of stress crack I don't think you can get new piece I would just have it welded where it is in place I would check the other side to see if it's in the same condition

Those brackets are available. When I did my TR250 3 of the 4 had cracks around the bolt holes. Since I had the body off I just replaced them. Don't know if welding it back up would work or not.
