T-Series Broken door latch

The interior door handle on the drivers side of my 74 no longer opens the door and I have to open the door from the outside. The handle moves, but fails to connect on the inside. Is there a simple way to fix this without having to remove all the door paneling?

Nope.

Once the panel is removed, though, the fix may be pretty easy. The latching rod just fits into a little hole on the door lock. As long as the small plastic locking do-hickey is intact, you can just fit this back in - it's obvious where it goes when you look.

Thanks.. I thought that would be the case.. Any tips for taking the paneling off AND getting back on correctly?

Remove the window handle and armrest. The paneling "should" just be held on with push clips. You can usually just reach behind/near where the clips are and lever each one outwards. Installation is the reverse.

Be careful prying the plastic clips out of the door - its real easy to tear the fiberboard backing. You can get a slick little tool at most auto parts stores for a couple of dollars that will pop them right off without damage - I highly recommend them.
