A man suffered a serious heart attack and was rushed
to the hospital by ambulance where he underwent
emergency open heart bypass surgery.
When he awakened from the surgery he realized he was
in a Catholic hospital with a middle-aged nun
standing over him.

"Sir," she said, "If you're feeling up to it, I have
to ask you a few questions."
The man replied that he was feeling well enough to
answer so the nun continued, "Sir, do you have
health insurance?"
"Oh, no, Sister," the man said, "I'm afraid I
don't."

"Oh my," declared the nun, "Sir, do you have a
savings account or any money that could go towards
your medical expenses?"

"No, Sister," said the man, "I'm afraid I don't."

"Oh, dear," said the nun, "Sir, do you have a home
or any property that might be sold in order to help
you out of this financial dilemma?"

"No, Sister," the man said, "I don't even own a
car."

"Lord help you, Sir," the nun exclaimed, "Your
hospital stay is going to be extensive and your
surgery is going to cost thousands. Might you have
family who would be able to help you in this hour of
need?"

"No," he said, "The only family I have is my
spinster sister, who is a nun like you."

"Sir!" said the nun, "I'll have you! know that we
nuns are not spinsters! We are married to God!"

"Well, there's your answer, Sister," said the man.
"Send the bill to my brother-in-law."
