Broke check strap on door

Hi everybody,it's been awhile since I've posted.
I ,made a big mistake and left the drivers door open while looking over my right shoulder and caught the door on the edge of the garage.REALLY STUPID. I've looked over the parts list to rapair these part(s) are inexspensive but I am going to have to pull the left fender to get to everything, does that sound about right?

Hi Winston, and welcome back!

Don't have my car in front of me, but I thought for the TR4-6 models you wouldn't need to pull the fender just to access the check strap. On the inside, you can pull the side carpet and get to the back of the a-post. But I may have that wrong and if so I think someone will chime in to correct me.

Randy's correct. The only hassle is if you plan on using the stock type rivets in the door. I said the heck with that and installed threaded zerts.
 
I don't know if the check strap attaches to the TR4 door the same way it does on a GT6 or Spitfire. On my cars I remove the door rivet and replace it with a short pan head 1/4-20 screw and low height hex nut when I put the straps in.
 
I just did this on both sides
ground out the rivets on the door and the check strap(Dremmel tool)
and replaced with 1/4-20 as above and used nylock nuts behind the A post
very easy (simple) procedure
