Broad Subject - Wanting General Info on Different Cars

… regarding differences in performance… I've always classified them like this in the same year cars ( more or less)

MG. best ride
Triumph. More power
AH 3000. (Couldn't afford)

Thanks for the insights

Why not wait & see what comes along - you might see
something that you hadn't thought of…. craigslist is also a great resource,& a way to waste lots of time.

That’s is sort of what’s happening. Availability will probably have a lot to do with it. Craigslist? Tell me about it. I am on it almost every night. I also us Tempest (www.searchtempest.com) to help with multiple area CL searches.

A British car show would be worth the trip. Seems like there are quite a few TR6's that are still reasonable and would make good drivers, that's probably what I'd look for …. If you have a bunch of money get a Healey, same leaks they just cost more.

Yes, have not ruled out the TR4 & 6. The Healey is more expensive, but not totally out of the question. “Same leaks they just cost more” statement is a hoot!

Tom - you could also contact Stacy Cooper, events coordinator with the Texas MG register:

And Phil Mackenzie of the Hill Country Triumph Club:

Thanks guys for all the suggestions!

Word of mouth is usually where the best deals are found.
Wear a t shirt with a picture of the car you want,& someone may
approach you & say "I know where there's one of those that they
guy wants to sell cheap".That's where my best deals came from.
I just heard of a nice (1960) MGA project car for sale -
the guy needs money,& wants to sell it quick.Had a guy tell me
about it,& will persue it.If anyone's interested (NO flippers,please),
I'll be happy to check it out.I don't need any more projects.
