British Legends Weekend Cape Cod, MA

Here are some shots of just the Triumph section. Yours truly had to leave early, but I got a call on my cell phone telling me that I won 1st place for TR-6's. That made me happy after looking at the very strong competition that I was up against. It must have been the "red head" because I had more questions about that all day, than anything else. The triple carbs was the next biggest topic of discussion.

I was on my feet from 9:00 until 2:30PM when I left. I must have spoken to 100 people or more, who wanted to know about my BCF shirt and the Forum as well as technical and general car questions. Many were fascinated by the original dealer invoice and the Heritage Certificate with the ship's name that my car came over on. I even met a gentlemen who lived in Liverpool and remembered seeing the cars being loaded at the docks.

There are TR3's, 250's 6's, GT-6's, Spit's (Greenie's burgundy Spitfire looked awesome!), and plenty of 7 & 8 Wedges. I could post a ton here, but will post a link to my website by the weekend so that you can all see some beautiful British marques.

For those who have never met him, that is the infamous Woody of the Wedge Shop, standing with a smile beside his (very fast) and beautiful red TR-8. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bow.gif

Paul, looks like a great show, I just missed it, I was in Cape Cod on the 16th, hadnt been to Mass. in 38 years. where on the Cape was this?

Hey Brosky, will you be posting some more photos??

Glenn,

I am really disappointed that the pictures of the Stags that I took did not come out at all. I must have had my camera setting position moved and didn't know it.

I have over 150 pictures, but I just need the time to create a page for my website and I'll post a link. I have to get my cylinder head swap and NGK A/F Ratio Sensor installation tutorials up there as well.

I'm finally spending more time behind the wheel instead of behind this monitor. But the cold weather is coming, so it won't be long now.

Allan,

It was at the Marine Park in the town of Falmouth. It was a great three day weekend of driving, eating, driving, eating, drinking, sleeping, driving.......

Yep that does it, I'll be switching over to my rack-less boot lid soon.

Even if I have to rattle can it flat black. I much prefer the coupe's without the luggage rack. My TR8 does seem genuinely FULLY optioned. But its time for the rack to go!

Shawn,

I think that there was only two TR7/8's with the luggage rack on.

I have one ready to mount, if and when I can find a rust free deck lid to refurbish. I'll never put it on my original lid.

I have another boot lid. One that has never had a rack on it. The paint is pretty faded but it is the same color as my TR8.

My TR6 has always had a rack. It wouldn't be the same without it. Besides, the TR6 boot is small enough that a rack is useful for long trips with two people. The wedges have real trunks and don't really need the racks.

- T'was a great day. Left RI early am, me up front in the TR6 and the Mrs. following in her Spitfire. Was about an 80 mile ride for us and took us about 2 hours to get there. Show field was full to overflowing with some superb specimens.

- Thanks for the kind words Paul on the Spitfire. And just to prove to everybody that you did get your car back together in time, and make the show here's a pic for you...and Congratulations on your first in the TR6 class.

- the "red head" Paul spoke about in his earlier post is on the right!

She did spend a lot of time looking under the hood, I thought she was admiring the exquisite job you'd done. After fixing her hair she wandered off mumbling something about the "mirrors" were better under your hood than the Ladies bathroom ! LOL

- lovely BSA...not made in Coventry...next town over Birmingham. Was worried about the bike stand on this one...would have made a nasty mess of the six's hood if it had gone over.

- very nice Bentley, complete with awards from Pebble Beach and of course the Grey Poupon!

- Had a flawless ride home. First 25 miles or so I was up front again, then the Spitfire and a XJS and modified MGB tucked in behind. Very nice of them to stay with us...as we turned off for RI on I195 they waved us off and headed north for Boston.

- The Mrs. was well chuffed taking first in the Spitfire/GT6 class.

- Great Show, (very well done Cape Cod BCC), lovely people and wonderful cars.
