Yeah, we're leaving to go down early this afternoon, it looks like by the time the track session goes down all will be well weather wise, makes no bones about it, I'll be there anyhting short of a globel melt down  I guess we will find out who the hard core folks are. I think what will probably happen is the numbers will be down and the sessions will actually be less crowded, meaning better.

If we do this agin next year, I shoot for late spring, early summer, and use Sunday as a rain date, lessons all being learn from a first attempt.

Hap. I was hoping to bring out the new 72 MGB. It will run in the rain but the 67 GT may get called to duty again. I WILL be there...Looking forward to it! If you are coming thru Monroe on your way thru call me and stop over.Bob 704-907-0986

Well here's a report from the British Invasion at CMP. The weather scared off a few folks, but we still had 17 diehard LBCs and their owner show up, their determination to come to this event in lue of the threats of bad weather got rewarded with 70 degree shirt sleeve weather and no rain. We got two 15 minute sessions on the 2.2 mile CMP road course, which equated to about 10+ laps. We all had a ball. The CMP staff gave us the green light to make this a annual event, so next year we'll plan in a more weather friendly time of year. You that were on the fence about this event due to the weather, all I can say, is you missed out, and wish you were there.

Well, needless to say, we didn't make it to the event. We got up around 5 AM to leave by 6:30 and it was pouring rain with thunder and lightning. So we stayed home. It cleared up later, but not enough time to get there at a reasonable hour. Glad it cleared up for those who went. Oh well, next year.

Thanks for setting up this event for us Hap! About 6 cars from the Columbia British car club drove up together on Saturday. Yes the weather was hit or miss for awhile but I am glad I was there. My Mini and I had a great time on the track! I sure was not expecting 10 laps-that was an early Christmas present. Eric

Eric, glad you had fun. We're definately going to do this again next year, maybe in a warmer time of year, however it was fairly warm this year. So as soon as I get a look at 2009 Southeastern car show shedule, I going to try to pick a date thet will work for most.Next year, we'll use Sunday as a rain date as well.
