I went to the Seattle area British car show this weekend and saw this really interesting tr3. The car came from Michigan, I think, but had Seattle plates. It was said to be in original condition and second owner and certainly look that way to me. Anyways, the car had this extra chrome piece on the hood and the trunk. In addition it had this red and black theme that carried through the vehicle. I will do a couple of pictures and if anyone knows anything about the car please comment.

From the Dzus fasteners for the sidecurtains, I can tell it's a later TR3A than my black 1958 (TS 27489 LO), also with a red interior. The carpet on the tunnel looks original with the seam down the center from the gear-stick circle towards the driveshaft tunnel. Also the black vinyl ring around the gear-stick boot is like it was originally. I have never seen seat cushions with white seat panels and in 50 years, I've never seen a TR with that chrome thing on the boot lid.

The chrome on the trunk looks like something borrowed from an American car. Custom car builders would use stainless trim from another car in their unique lead sleds. My guess is someone did the same on this TR3.
Maybe this was an early example of TR Bling? Watch out Paul and Bill may show up with this.

If I can ever remember how to post a picture I have a good candidate for the possible source of the trim in the TR3. Taks a look at this. It's a 1951 Ford F1 with the 5 star cab (trim option) 51 Ford F1 5-Star Trim
