British Car Rescue Story

while we are on the topic of saving sports cars, I did a little "rescue" of my own this weekend - I found out about these two 1959 TR3A's because a guy who recently bought a cottage lot down from my mothers noticed my MG Midget and started telling me about the 2 TR3A's that he owned for the past 12 years. He had them in a storage shed & had torn the better of the 2 all apart with hopes of restoring... then building a new home, family commitments etc. took over... & he wanted them to go to a good home asking only what he paid 12 years ago...
Finally got a 20' moving truck to haul the torn down one & my friend with truck & car trailer to haul the complete car back home this weekend, about 4 hours away. Thought I would share a few pics, the one pic shows some of the bit's & pieces that were loaded on a trailer. Next weekend I will start sorting thru all the stuff so I know what I have as I have doubles & sometimes triples of extra parts... big ol' puzzle to put back now
I will have many TR3A "newbie" questions in the future

Do I spy a workshop manual in one of those boxes?
At least that will be a good start!
Have fun.

You lucky dog you! I love the TR3s, but a "nice " car is beyond my budget, and the "not so nice" cars around here have rusted into the ground already. Nice Find.

Nice find!

Oh man do I love seeing TRs on a trailing in route to their new home. Kind of addictive, good thing I'm out of space <grin>.

First, congratulations, looks like you are going to have a lot of fun. Don't want to steal this topic, but I was surprised the bit of 'Triumph Karma' we had going on this weekend. Here is a shot of what I was doing on Saturday, trailing two TR3A basket cases back to my place!

thanks, you are correct, very scarce in my area - I have never even seen one, when I had the chance to get the whole deal for a fair price I couldn't say no ! Even though I'm renovating a house ... I had to come up with the money
