British Car Field DAY-Milwaukee 09

Joe, the HRG is an LBC built (pretty much unaltered!)from 1935 to 1956 by H.R. "Dan" Godfrey who collaborated with Archie Frazer-Nash in 1910 to build the GN, arguably the first genuine sporting light car. HRGs were powered by a 1496cc ohv engine which produced 58hp @ 4500rpm. In a 1600lb car this produced a top speed of over 80mph and 0 to 50 mph in under 100 sec.s! They competed quite competitively at LeMans and in every type of competitive event from Trials, to hill-climbs and ralleying! A venerable British marque!

Mike- just to add a bit. It was Ron Godfrey, not Dan, I believe. The initials HRG stood for Halford, Robins and Godfrey, not Godfrey alone.
They used bought-in engines and other major components, from Meadows and later Singer for the engines.
